"Pick Me!" Pot + Freebie!

This week I decided to "prettify" my method of calling on students.  I bought a terracotta pot, found some green popsicle sticks in my stash-o-supplies, and made a colorful set of class numbers {each of my students is assigned a number}.  I grabbed my hot glue gun, and ended up with this:
I like to refer to it as the "Pick me!" pot :)  I'm lovin' it, and so are my littles!!

Want to make one?? ;)

I turned the class numbers into a little freebie packet for you!  I included numbers 1-36, as well as directions on how to make this simple project.  You could also use the numbers for labeling student items, attendance sticks {my next project lol}, and more!  If you download this set {located on TpT}, I just ask that you leave me some fun feedback!! ;)

This item coordinates with my writing center starter kit:
Aaaand, I have some more coordinating items up my sleeve... be on the lookout!

Have a great Memorial Day!!

Love your "Pick me!" Pot! What a fun idea! I have sticks in my classroom with my students' names that I use to call on them, but it would be fun to brighten them up a bit!! And the numbers are nice because you can reuse them every year!!

Those are great! I tried student numbers this year but it was too confusing b/c my school has a huge mobility rate. I lost 7 students throughout the year.... and got 7 new ones. I use a jar idea similar to yours, but just have student's names on each stick. I definitely need to find a way to make it cute this summer :) Thanks for sharing your idea!

SO cute! I don't use numbers in my class so I'll just write my students' names. My summer list of to-do just keeps growing! I am one of your new followers!

Thank you... Very colorful... I use plain Popsicle sticks with their numbers on them. I also use a button jar where I have their number several times on a round die cut of foam. Even when I pull their number the first time they still have to pay attention because it could come out again... This is going to be so much more colorful. Thanks again.

Great idea and thanks for the numbers! They are so fresh and cute-thinking I may be using them for the "Pick me Pot" and a few other things!
Thanks again!

I LOVE this idea! I want to make one, but my concern is that I quickly learn who is which number and then I fear I may no longer be randomly picking students. Have you found yourself doing this?

I use numbers in my class too but like others have said, yours are SOOOOOO darling! I also use sticks in a mason jar after reading the book, The Name Jar, but I am just lovin' your 'Pick Me' pot! I can't wait to make mine! (Stuff like this keeps me up at night, lol!) Thank you so much for sharing with us!
