Happy Snow Day!  Any other East Coasters with me?!  Today has been a day full of sleeping and TV watching… my kinda Wednesday! ;)

Before I take another nap or turn on the newest Keeping Up With the Kardashians {decisions, decisions} I want to share a little Chinese New Year unit with you!  Take a look:

This mini pack is the perfect supplement to your Chinese New Year unit!  Inside, you'll find two fun and traditional crafts, like these firecrackers…

...and this lantern!

Your kiddos will also love reading about Chinese traditions in the included mini reader…

...and then they can write all about it on this cute stationary {secondary lines also included}!

Plus, I included an ABC order sheet, and a word search for a little fun!

If you're interested in adding chinese new year {craftivities & printables} to your plans, you can grab a copy in my TpT shop!  I hope you and your little ones love it!! :)

I will give away one copy to a lucky reader!  Just leave a comment plus your email address, and I'll choose a winner at 8pm EST!
Congrats to #16, Leslie! Check your email!
It's no secret that I *love* to craft… so when Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores contacted me to take part in their #teachercreativity blog hop, I jumped at the chance!

My little projects all center around teacher's new best friend:  Washi Tape!  I picked up some chevron tape in my classroom colors: pink, blue, and an orangey-yellow {I also have green in my room, but skipped it this time}.  I had so much fun putting the tape on… everything!  It's so easy to use, because you can reposition it 'til you get it just right.

First, I dressed up some clothespins!  I'm super excited about these-- they are so much better than plain clothespins!  I switched out the boring pins on my hallway display for the new and improved Washi version. :)

Next, I added a little detail to my bright pink 3-drawer container!  I bought this container from Jo-Ann over the summer… isn't it so pretty?  Never mind that it's empty. ;)

Then I taped up a wooden letter P {for my last initial}, and set it out on my desk.

And last but not least… I prettied up some paint cans! :)  I added a Washi border to the top and bottom rims of the cans.  I used a scallop punch on some chalkboard vinyl to make the labels on the tops of the cans.  Aaaand I attached the little lid openers to the can handles with some pretty, matching ribbon!  Now I just have to fill them!

Want to get crafting, ASAP?  You're in luck!!  Head to Jo-Ann this weekend, and snag your purchase for 25% off the total!

Before you go, be sure to sign up for the Teacher Rewards Program!  Click {HERE} or on the picture below to get 15% off every purchase, every day!

Now that you're coupon-ready, head on over to my friends' blogs for more crafting inspiration!

Hooray for #teachercreativity!!

The following review is part of a Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores® campaign.  I received compensation for this review; however, this is my personal, honest opinion based on my experience.

January is jam-packed full of fun in first grade!  We've already tackled snowmen and Eskimos, we are currently covering Martin Luther King… and of course, we can't forget about penguins and polar bears!  I thought I'd stop in and share pictures of the January jumble that we have goin' on, and hopefully give you some ideas in the meantime.

First up, snowmen!  Our cuties are inspired by a project from First Grade Blue Skies.  Jennifer's pack also includes complete snowmen… check it out!

Next, how about some Eskimos?  We learned all about the friendly bunch, and had fun practicing some Eskimo words! :)

And this week we are discussing Martin Luther King, Jr.!  I found this cool MLK, Jr. song on Pinterest, from Welcome to Room 36.  My kiddos love it!  I even caught two cuties singing it as we lined up for dismissal today :)  We will also be working on activities from my i have a dream {craftivity & printables for MLK, Jr.} unit.

Now, how's that for a jumble?!  I hope you were inspired by at least one pic from today's post!   And, I'd love to hear from you!  Happy Wednesday, Cupcakes! :)
